Privacy Policy

Viaru doesn't use accounts, passwords, or phone numbers. This page explains, simply, what little data we do handle.
What we collect
- Destinations you create. When you search for or paste a location, the destination name and coordinates are encoded directly into the link/QR code you generate. That data lives in the link itself — we don't tie it to an account.
- Anonymous usage statistics. We log counts of key actions (destinations created, QR codes scanned, navigation apps launched) so we can understand how Viaru is used. These counts contain no names, emails, or phone numbers.
- Business destination records. If you use our business tool via a verified link, we store the destination name, its generated link, and basic usage stats tied to that business so we can show you how your QR code is performing. You can ask us to delete this at any time.
- Temporary technical data. We briefly use IP addresses to prevent abuse (rate limiting). These aren't stored long-term or linked to anything else.
- Your device only. Your language preference and whether you've dismissed the install prompt are stored on your own device (browser local storage) and never sent to us.
We use a small number of trusted technical service providers to run Viaru (for hosting, search, and data storage). None of them receive your name, email, or phone number through Viaru.
How long we keep data
Anonymous usage counts are kept indefinitely since they don't identify anyone. Business destination records are kept while the business's link remains active, and deleted on request.
Your choices
Email contact@viaru.app anytime to ask what we have about your business, or to request deletion.
